I am Callum Kewen; a young guitar teacher based in Blyth, Northumberland. My qualifications are listed above. I have been playing guitar since the age of 12; being taught privately myself and I have been teaching since 2016.

I tend to teach with a ‘learn by ear’ approach rather than the theoretical approach. I find this is the most efficient way of allowing the student to understand why we need to learn the things we do but allowing them to become an independent musician over the long-term.

Since 2018, I am a self employed full time musician. My guitar tuition is one of three businesses that I currently manage.

I go under ‘DJ Kewen’ for my disco service where I provide music for parties and functions around the North East of England.

I also gig around pubs and clubs under the alias of ‘Kewen’ and I have my own recorded music. I also do this with my band ‘Kewen & The Crosswalks’.

My very shy 11 year old has lessons with Callum, I wasn't sure if she'd stick with it! But she's really enjoying her lessons, and despite not being the best at practicing she learns more every week, I've even started recognising some songs ha! Would definitely say that Callum had a knack with young people especially ones who may not be a naturally confident performer. Looking forward to seeing how she gets on, thank you
